Tearful Obama Speaks to the Nation

President Obama stood in front of the nation for nearly six minutes, wiping away tears.

27 people, including 18 who are under ten years old, were killed in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut Friday.

“The majority of those who died today were children. Beautiful little kids between the ages of five to ten years old.” said the president from the White House.

Explaining that he has already spoke to Connecticut governor Dan Malloy, the president promised to give as much aid and resources to the community that experienced the tragedy.

The president told the nation that he and his wife, like every American parent, will hug their children a little tighter tonight.

Reports are starting to come out that the killer, 20 year old Adam Lanza, main target was his mother who was a teacher at the school.

New reports say that she was killed at her home, along with Lanza’s father who was killed at his home.

He then traveled to the school and attacked his mother’s kindergarten class.

Lanza brother, 24 year old Ryan Lanza, is believed to be in custody after waiting in the woods adjacent to the school. He was wearing camouflage.

The president also listed the many massacre that have taken place. He said that now was not the time, but promised to work towards protecting people from further danger.

It is now June. We are several months pass this tragedy, and a lot has happened. Gun Control was debated, Americans demanded stricter regulations, but Congress was unable to pass a bill. That is not what I want to talk about however.

I have re-read the article that wrote. I can not believe how wrong initial media reports were. Lanza’s brother had nothing to do with the shootings. His mother was never associated with the school. All of this was wrong.

Think back to the Boston Marathon shootings. CNN, FOX, The New York Post and many other news agency continued to report that they had people in custody or suspects. It was not until a week that they did. I don’t understand how today’s news can be so wrong so often? Say what you want about opinion pieces, you have to report news correctly. Journalist have to take responsibility.
